Rachel Cansler - Advanced Clinical Resident
Whether you’re managing stress, anxiety, or depression, working to rebuild relationships and enhance your well-being, or seeking clarity in your path forward, you’ve come to the right place.
I bring a holistic and compassionate approach to therapy, recognizing the deep connection between mental, emotional, relational, and physical well-being. My goal is to create a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental space where you can explore your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors while feeling truly seen and understood. Together, we’ll identify unhelpful patterns, build self-awareness, and create meaningful change aligned with your values and goals.
I provide culturally attuned therapy in New York, offering support for anxiety, depression, trauma, and relationship challenges through individual and couples counseling, as well as family and group options. Whether you’re looking to manage stress, heal from trauma, rebuild relationships, or gain clarity in your life’s direction, I’m here to help you heal and grow.
Our work will be tailored to your unique needs using evidence-based approaches, including cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), mindfulness, and acceptance-based strategies. My practice is also rooted in trauma-informed and attachment-focused care, which allows us to explore how past experiences and relationships may influence your present challenges and emotional responses. You can expect a collaborative, empathetic environment where you’ll gain practical tools to navigate life with greater confidence.
With over a decade of experience in behavioral therapy, clinical research, and health coaching, I’ve supported women, veterans, first responders, caregivers, and individuals living with neurological or behavioral health conditions. I’m especially passionate about working with adults and young adults who feel “stuck,” struggle with self-doubt, or face challenges with family, career, identity, or relationships.
I hold a Master’s degree in Psychology from NYU and am currently completing a Master’s in Mental Health Counseling at Hunter College. My academic and clinical training equip me to provide culturally competent therapy that supports long-term growth and resilience.
Above all, I believe in the transformative power of therapy to foster clarity, healing, and a sense of agency. With a holistic approach, I’m here to support and encourage you as we explore your unique path toward growth and fulfillment. Virtual and in-person sessions are available—book a consultation or session today.
